4 left in 18k · ready to post Tuesday

A 12 mm signet face with a single rolled edge, raised from one piece and finished flat enough to take eighteen characters inside the band. 8.4 g in 18k. It sits high but not proud; on a little finger it reads as a full stop.

Fit

A signet needs half a size more than a band

The face adds weight above the knuckle, so a signet that measures correctly can still spin. If you wear a 54 in a plain band, order the Nodo at 54 and tell us it is for the little finger — we file the inside slightly heavier on that side and it stops turning.

If you are between two sizes, take the larger and let us tighten it. Taking metal out is a clean job; putting it back in leaves a seam you can feel for the first month.

About this ring in particular

What can be engraved on the face, and what inside?

Inside the band: up to eighteen characters, hand-cut, free, in a roman capital or an italic script. On the face: initials or a single device, cut by hand at €120 for up to three letters, with a drawing sent to you for approval before any tool touches the gold. Either one adds three working days and makes the ring non-returnable, which is why we say it on the page, in the confirmation email and on the card in the box.

How long until it ships if my size is not in the drawer?

Sizes 52, 54, 56 and 58 are in 18k on the shelf today and post on the next Tuesday or Friday. Everything else is cut to order: ten working days at the bench, then two to four in the post. We email you the day it goes on the peg and the day it comes off, with a photograph, so you are never wondering.

Will 18k gold mark or scratch?

Yes, within a week, and that is the point of it. 18k is soft enough to take a mark from a car key and hold it. A signet face goes from mirror to a soft satin in about three months and then stays there. Bring it back once a year and we repolish it on the wheel in twenty minutes, free, while you wait.

Is the 9k version noticeably different to wear?

It is lighter in the hand — 6.1 g against 8.4 g — harder, and pinker. It holds a polish longer and takes an engraving more crisply. The colour difference is obvious beside 18k and invisible on its own. If you are buying a ring to wear on a trade, 9k is the sensible choice and nobody here will talk you out of it.

Can I return it if the size is wrong?

Send it back within thirty days, unworn, with the pre-paid label in the box, and the refund lands within five working days. Or keep it and let us size it: the first resize inside ninety days costs nothing, including the postage both ways. Most people choose the second, which is why we offer it before the first.

Try it on before you decide

There are three Nodos on the bench in 52, 54 and 58, and a drawer of steel sizers beside them. Twenty minutes in Arezzo settles a question that an email cannot.
